A Season of Thanks: Celebrating our Customers, Partners, and Team

Nov. 27, 2024

As we prepare to gather around the dinner table with friends and family to celebrate the season of thankfulness, it’s only fitting for Dixon to take a minute and reflect on what truly matters. Our story is not just about global market presence or cutting-edge products; it’s about the people and values that have shaped the history of Dixon and continue to define our future. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to identify and celebrate a few things we are thankful for.

Employees

At the core of Dixon’s success is our dedicated workforce. Without the passion, expertise, and loyalty of the more than 1,300 employees across the U.S., we would not be where we are today. From CNC machinists and assembly personnel, to customer service, marketing, accounting, and more, every individual plays a pivotal role in daily operations.

Dixon is particularly thankful for the teamwork and collaboration that fuel our culture. Employees are encouraged to share ideas, tackle challenges together, and contribute to continuous improvement. Our employees uphold the six pillars of character—respect, responsibility, caring, citizenship, trustworthiness, and fairness—to demonstrate Uncommon Excellence® and delight customers every day.

Distributors and End Users

Dixon is also thankful for our customers. As partners, Dixon distributors not only provide products for markets around the world, but also offer essential services like product knowledge, technical support, and hands-on assistance, with the help of Dixon before, during, and after the sale.

The businesses and industries that rely on Dixon products to keep their operations running smoothly place their trust in us, which is something we don’t take for granted. Whether it’s for the agriculture, oil and gas, construction, or food and beverage industry, customers need safe, durable products that provide real solutions for real challenges. When it comes to choosing a manufacturer for hose couplings, valves, dry disconnects, swivels, and other fluid and transfer control products, the options are endless. We are grateful for our customers who choose Dixon and support our commitment to North American manufacturing.

Legacy of Innovation

Since founding in 1916, Dixon has been committed to innovation. The ability to anticipate industry needs and develop forward-thinking solutions has been a key factor in our success. Dixon is grateful for the spirit of innovation that has been passed down through generations, driving us to constantly evolve.

We have strived to produce innovative products from the very beginning with a patent on the rotary hose coupling in 1917, which was the largest selling item in the Dixon product line for the next 15 years. In 1964, Dixon was tasked with developing a hose that could withstand the harsh environment of the steel manufacturing process; a challenge that was accomplished with GSM armored hose. The innovation continued in 1980 as Dixon entered the cam & groove market with the Boss-Lock coupling featuring a safety locking handle. Today, one of Dixon’s most recent innovations is the Modular Connection System (MCS) used to connect multiple hydraulic quick disconnect couplings simultaneously.

Our commitment to innovation remains steadfast. We are thankful for the ability to utilize our Innovation Center along with feedback from valued partners to continue providing The Right Connection®.

Training Opportunities

At Dixon, we understand that success doesn’t just come from making safe, reliable products; it comes from equipping customers with the knowledge and skills to use them effectively. That’s why we place a strong emphasis on training.

Dixon is proud to offer exclusive online and in-person training programs. From our First Friday webinars and Customer College, to Hose Coupling Workshops and On-Site Safety Training, we are thankful for every opportunity to meet and interact with distributors and end users to expand product knowledge and promote safety.

U.S. Manufacturing

Finally, Dixon is immensely grateful for our long-standing commitment to U.S. manufacturing. We are proud to produce high-quality products at our seven manufacturing locations in the U.S. and appreciate the ability to maintain control over the manufacturing process, ensuring that every product meets our standards for safety, durability, and performance. By being a U.S. manufacturer, we can be more responsive to customer needs, delivering products with shorter lead times and providing custom solutions.

We are thankful for and take great pride in our ability to contribute to the U.S. economy and bring value to the community.

Summary

As we reflect on the history of Dixon and look forward to the future, we are filled with gratitude. From our dedicated employees to the trusted customers who rely on our products, Dixon is thankful for the many people and partnerships that have made success possible. We are also proud of our legacy of innovation, investment in training, and the unwavering commitment to U.S. manufacturing.

There is always something to be thankful for, so don’t forget to take some time to acknowledge and appreciate the good things in life, no matter how big or small. Happy Thanksgiving from Dixon!
